Welcome to my monthly e letter!  The "e" stands for
energy.  My intention is to infuse you with new energy,
and nourish you with quotes, book recommendations,
fresh insights, and places I am floundering.  I wanted to
connect more often than once a year when I write a new
book, or briefly in person on a book tour.  My vision is to
have this turn into a forum, a place to converse, a salon
where we can EXTRAVAGANTLY LOUNGE together.

I have been so inspired by your responses that we have

IMMEDIATE ANGELS
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=

I believe we were made stronger by the events of
September eleventh, 2001, and throughout this year.  A
strength made of connection, reflection and new action.  I
believe that faith is wilder and more indelible than evil.  I
believe that miracles lead the way.  I know that there is
and was no safety, and that this is OK.  The illusion of
safety kept us quiet and believing we were separate.

I did not lose friends or relatives in those terrible days. 
The only comparisons I can make is to my own history of
being molested, physically abused, attempting suicide,
and recently witnessing my mother's elder journey in
nursing homes and hospitals.  I have experienced terror
and helplessness, rage and loss.  But still, I was not in
those buildings or those airplanes.  I can never know that
particular pain.  I deeply honor those who do.

We are all witnesses to the growth and changes since
that date, and all that has remained the same.  Let's look
sharply and clearly at what has remained the same, and
how it needs to change, and then boldly make those
changes.

We have the luxury of this anniversary, obviously because
we are still here.  Perhaps those who died became
immediate angels who watch over all of us.  I believe they
are our "wise advisors."  Let us listen deeply.

As we honor and remember, let's include the whole world
in our prayers and rituals.  Our world needs all of our
highly creative and peace-full solutions, and brave hearts
to ask the questions.  We are all waking up, and
speaking up more than ever before!

I believe that our collective goodness and intrinsic
creativity is far mightier than we can possibly imagine,
and that to fully mobilize and live in this way is a sacred
opportunity for each one of us.

THINGS TO TRY FOR HEALING

-->Allow loss and grief
Remember that healing happens in spirals and layers,
and we travel through these outside linear time.  Forget
the clock and calendar in relationship to loss and grief.

-->Express grief and rage
Let yourself experiment with new ways of expression. 
You may need to experience prolonged sobbing or
wailing instead of/or in addition to, silence or meditation.

-->Honor your Joy
Laughter and play are necessary for healing, and act as
balancing balm for our souls.  Your joy is a healing agent
for others.

MAY WE ALL

~~~ Take Brave New Steps (tiny steps welcome)
Initiate a change in your self or community in a way that
fills your heart (practice micromovements with this). 
Continue expanding your practice.

~~~ Magnify Magnificence
Talk about everything good you see.  This works best in
parallel to problem solving.

~~~ Invite our Wise Self to Speak Up
We need your wise self in action.  This self will respond
immediately to your questions and direction.

I SEND TO YOU

A transformative dream, during which you realize and
remember all of your creative powers.  When you wake
up, you'll feel lighter, stronger, and even more perceptive. 
New skills appear, and fear melts easily.  You are able to
act in ways that you had previously admired in others. 
Your energy flows smoothly and without effort and your
feel yourself divinely guided.  All is well.

My Mom is finding all the miracles in the
micromovements from her bed in the nursing home.  She
is now able to sit up for 20 minutes, and intends to learn
