Moon: Close to the lunar eclipse, moonlight splashed on my living room floor

Dearest Radiant Spirits,

Here's a little crowd of miraculous moments for you:

STAYING in a huge 1892 mansion in Minneapolis by myself and getting really scared alone at night, and, with my friend Patricia's help, "filling the room with angels," and then sleeping like an angel for 12 hours.

VISITING my 13-year-old friend Marina's Waldorf School in Minneapolis and climbing into every reading fort in every classroom. Having Henry, the enrollment coordinator, say to me, "You should teach here," and imagining for a moment a life like that.

STANDING at my mother's grave in Minneapolis for the first time since her funeral and seeing the headstone for the first time ever, and reading the inscription: "Marvelous Marge," which they told us couldn't be done since it is a military cemetery -- my mom was a Marine, and they don't allow nicknames. Then some kind soul made an exception. I made a rubbing of the words with a purple pen.

GOING to see my niece Emily's farm in Minnesota and meeting her kind horses and holding the newly born barn kittens. One of the horses gently bites hair clips out of your hair. Having Emily assist me at my event in St. Cloud, MN, and hearing her say, "I'd like to be famous so I could go backstage. I like what happens backstage." Watching her fearlessly interact with my readers at the booksigning afterwards. Having dinner with her mom Cheryl and stepdad Mark at a place with giant geese outside the window tapping on the glass with their beaks.

RECEIVING a handmade doll from an artist named Deb, who fashioned it after me. It has wild curls and long legs and a necklace that says "dream." The doll also has no arms, and she called the Inspiration Line to explain, "I think that you've given so much to the world, and that it's time you really let the world wrap her arms around you." I burst into tears at hearing these words of receiving and deeply thank Deb.

"ADOPTING" a family from Wisconsin on the plane back to San Francisco and inviting them to join me in my town car driven by my friend Lenny, the Russian limo driver (who bought his car on eBay), and taking them to their hotel in style and hearing them exclaim loudly over the steep hills. This was their first trip ever to San Francisco, and their daughters were coming to run the Leukemia Marathon.

CAVORTING at the "Women's Showcase" event in St. Cloud, MN, and getting to meet members of the Marvelous Message Board -- Bugprints, Flapper, and Dragonlily (who makes fabulous jewelry), and members of the Red Hat Society! I am sure there are others, and I thank you ALL for attending. I loved meeting you!

Thank you to Michele Massman and company for such rich hospitality and to the Heritage House bed and delicious breakfast and all the great women named Deb I met that weekend (it was a parade of Debs).

FIGURING out how my company can grow even better and receiving contributions and support in response to my last eLetter asking for help. Thank you so much for the kind words and donations, subscriptions, and product purchases. Thank you also for people who provided thought-provoking criticism. It reminded me to ask for more feedback in advance and that I always learn and grow with the help of my readers. Thank you also to my team of talented professionals here at Planet SARK, the company.

Here are a couple of quick clarifications:
Any help you'd like to provide is completely voluntary. I treasure your presence also as a contribution. The Society of SARK membership that I created is inspired by ALL of you and is defined as "a loosely formed society of creative, independent, succulent people." Some of you are subscribers ; all are members; all are here in the spirit of SARK -- including me! The MMB (Marvelous Message Board) will always be FREE (and has been since 1998). (Hey, it rhymes.)

I'll be back with a new eLetter in January after some long naps, beach walks, and healing time. In between, I'll probably be posting on the Planet and definitely look forward to doing creative dream work and play with those attending my event in San Francisco on January 22.

I'm sending you all the moonlight of this night and the scent of night-blooming jasmine. I honor all of our growth and miraculous moments and stuck places and flailing. I sit in awe of our humanity. I thank you for your essence.
