The Magic Cottage Story
The Magic Cottage in San Francisco found me in 1989. What began as a tiny, colorful cottage has become a creative sanctuary and the heart of everything I’ve made since. It’s filled with light, books, and the spirit of joyful creation — a living symbol of how imagination can transform any space, and any life. I believe each of us holds a magic cottage within — a place where dreams take shape and creativity comes alive.
For decades, I envisioned an imprint that could help visionary creators publish their work without losing their voice or rights. Magic Cottage Press is the realization of that dream.
We publish a small number of aligned authors each year, ensuring each project receives personal attention, artistry, and care—from first spark to finished creation.

SARK (Susan Ariel Rainbow Kennedy) is the bestselling author and artist of nineteen books — including Succulent Wild Woman — with more than three million copies sold worldwide. For over thirty years, SARK has mentored writers, artists, and visionaries to move through resistance and bring their projects to life. She created Magical Mentoring and Build Your Own Book, the proprietary system she used to publish her bestselling books — helping thousands of creative souls step into authorship. Now, as co-founder of Magic Cottage Press, she brings loving accountability, creative structure, and practical publishing experience to guide each author from inspiration to completion.
David Rotman, known as the Angel of Love, is the co-leader of Planet SARK and co-founder of Magic Cottage Press. A former Hollywood producer, screenwriter, and agent, he has developed more than fifty films, including Cliffhanger and Dragonheart, and has written for Ben Stiller and Will Smith. Since 2019, he has co-mentored alongside SARK, helping writers transform ideas into finished books and card decks. A spiritual artist and visionary, he brings storytelling mastery, compassionate clarity, and intuitive brilliance to every creative collaboration.

Most publishing journeys take about 3–5 months from edited draft to printed creation — far faster than traditional publishing timelines, yet still filled with artistry and attention.

Every project begins with an Editorial Assessment to determine what level of editing best supports your book or deck. A light editorial review is included to ensure your voice and message stay beautifully aligned. If additional editing is needed, you’ll receive clear feedback, transparent options, and trusted editor recommendations. Any deeper editing is contracted and paid directly between you and the editor, so you always have clarity and choice about the scope and cost.
How long does publishing take?
Most projects move from edited draft to finished book or deck in 3–5 months, depending on scope and pace.
Do you accept everyone?
No. We review each application carefully and accept a small number of aligned authors each year. If your draft is still in progress, we may suggest a creative mentorship step with us first, so you can finish with confidence before publishing.
